The annual outdoor street festival features a sidewalk sale with over 100 vendors, live entertainment and FREE family-friendly activities. Take part in the 1.4km sidewalk sale, visit 4 markets including the 10,000 sq.ft. outdoor Night Market showcasing Parkdale’s eclectic food and chefs, a 10,000 sq.ft. Kids Zone and the Little Tibet Market!

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
The Sidewalk Festival takes place on Saturday May 11th, 2019 from 11:00am-6:00pm, and the Night Market attraction at the Festival takes place from 4:00pm-9:00pm.
WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL?
The Sidewalk Festival takes place along Queen Street West from Roncesvalles Avenue to Dufferin Street, with a side road closure at Cowan Avenue, as well as 2-3 Green P Parking lot closures. The Festival includes up to 11 designated ‘Zones’ with added attractions. (Note: We do NOT close off Queen Street West)
WHO COMES TO THE FESTIVAL?
54% of Festival attendees come with their families and about 38% of people are aged 36-45 years old. Around 62% say they came for the outdoor Festival atmosphere & music whereas 38% said they came to eat local. What’s most notable is that 70% of attendees are coming from Parkdale, Roncesvalles or Brockton and 68% of Festival-goers spend up to $50!
THE NIGHT MARKET
The Night Market (4:00pm-9:00pm) is a 10,000 sq.ft. outdoor Food Market, & includes food vendors, a DJ, patio seating & more! From $5 to $12 enjoy cuisine from around the world and most importantly, made by Parkdale Chefs! Come out to enjoy glorious doughnuts, Filipino BBQ, Tibetan & Japanese cuisine, patio seating and tunes by DJ Sparkdale!. Entry to the market is free, food can be purchased from each vendor.

THE KIDS ZONE
The Kids Zone is a 10,000 sq.ft. free outdoor family play area located at Callender Avenue featuring free crafts, face-painting, a photo booth, musical entertainment, DJ Fluffy Souffle, a Pirate Ship, skateboarding, tennis & more! Stay tuned for exciting announcements about more Kids Zone attractions! (Parking lot: 1624 Queen St. W. @ Callender)
THE COMMUNITY ZONE
The Community Zone is a 5,000 sq.ft. road closure located at Cowan Avenue and features local groups and agencies doing incredible work within the Parkdale Community – come & support a cause! (1313 Queen St. W. @ Cowan).
THE CYCLING ZONE
Visit the Cycling Zone where you can get a free bike tune up and learn more about local cycling advocacy groups and projects. (location to be determined).
THE PARKDALE FLEA MARKET
Visit this special edition of the Parkdale Flea Market, bringing together some of the best and most unique vendors and products from antiques, vintage, collectibles, local artisans and designers. (NEW LOCATION: 1605 Queen St. W. @ Triller Ave).
THE LITTLE TIBET MARKET
The Little Tibet Market hosted by Students for a Free Tibet Canada features Tibetan arts & crafts, vendors, music, poetry, a fashion show & more! (1447 Queen St. W. @ Jameson)
CROWN FLORAL FLOWER MARKET
The Floral event of the season returns. Join some of Crown Florals favorite artisan vendors in their indoor market, and shop your heart out at the indoor/outdoor flower market! (1233 Queen St. W. @ Gwynne)
THE ZERO WASTE FAIR
The Zero Waste Fair hosted by Zero Waste Hub Toronto features repair, reuse, recyclers, DIY interactive activity stations, waste/eco educators/activists, and an interactive plastic litter/waste art installation. (location to be determined).
Thank you to everyone in advance for your help in reducing waste at this event, please B.Y.O. (Bring Your Own) containers, cups, cutlery, napkins, & straws if possible. Otherwise ‘recycle right’ & avoid littering to help show some love for Parkdale and planet Earth by reducing necessary clean-up efforts post-event.

HOW CAN BIA MEMBERS PARTICIPATE?
If you are a BIA Member selling food in front of your Cafe/Restaurant OR want to sell food in our 10,000 sq.ft. Night Market, you must first submit a Vendor Application. If you are a BIA Member selling goods, promoting your services or hosting a craft in front of your store or you need us to relocate you to another area, you must notify us about your participation via [email protected] If you are participating with in-store deals, don’t forget to tell us too!

HOW CAN MUSICIANS OR ENTERTAINERS PARTICIPATE?

IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE?
There is a $125 fee for all Night Market participants. There may be additional costs if you are a vendor participating in one of the other Markets such as the Parkdale Flea, please contact them directly.
